Using the school pc now is forcing me to type in English which I really need more practice on.
I really have to say that time is flying without knowing.
Few days ago I met Hon-i on line exclaiming that he can't believe he is now in his third year of university life! I automatically reflect to my own case acknowledging -- MY! I am in my forth and last year now. But the odd thing of being an exchange student out in another country really makes me feel like a freshman again. Knowing nothing about registering a course and using the facilities on the course broadcast network – WEBCT. Also facing difficulties like finding the proper place for class and even lost on the streets on the way to school. All these make me feel like a freshman whom is suddenly put into a whole new environment and having so much to know, to keep in mind.
Now, acknowledging it’s already Thursday, it’s hard to imaging how time passed so quickly. For all the reading that I should read but have not and also the coming exam, debate and papers that I am about to crush into. It is really very different from what it is like back in Taiwan, how it should be exciting but relaxing in the beginning of a semester. Put it in another way, it is quite nature that they had to hush the courses this way since at the time Taiwan students are having midterms, students here is facing their finals already. To finish a whole book of knowledge within 8 weeks is challenging for both the professor and the students at the same time.
There is always so much to study and so much to feel happy about but also things that really stress you down.
Fortunately, I didn’t face much culture shock, probably because I usually take them as something new and interesting to know about. How people in coming from different places think. Also quite able to accustom the food here and enjoy them very much.
Mommy once asked me: are you wearing very different from them? I would say that maybe I wasn’t watching very closely, but I think that most people wear very differently and that leave me no bothering what I am wearing might be odd to them.
But the funny thing is that people here seems to avoid wearing rain coat! Wearing the convenient yellow rain coat really seems sparky and funny on streets ;) anyway, I take any chance that can keep me dry all the way to school. Tell you what: I even have a plastic bag wrapping my hat and capped on my head this morning—and it is definitely stupid to see in anyway.
Well again, this one has become a messy note. Forgive me, this is just a part of my diary.
